The seminar focus on need to use materials which will be resistant to fracture and to design Structures-such that cracks/flaws will not cause catastrophic failure is well recognized. research
over the past two decades has provided a core of knowledge on the mechanics of fracture. This seminar is now being focused to solve important engineering problems in the safe design, the structures which may contain flaws during their service life. It will also provide fracture specialists with a useful source of new ideas on fracture applications from areas outside their own
specialization.
